California Residential Lighting Requirements
All lighting attached to a California residential construction project must conform to California Title 24 Residential Lighting JA8 requirements.
WENDEL® AND WENLUX® LED LUMINAIRES – CHIP ON BOARD
The LM2P and LM4L LED Lighting Modules are listed by Wendelighting at the California Energy Commission. The LM2P Lighting Module was tested and conforms to strict California Title 24 Residential Lighting JA8 Energy/Life/Color/Dimming Standards. The Lighting Module delivers uniform light equivalent to a 70 Watt Halogen MR16 lamp.
WENDEL® HALOGEN LUMINAIRES – LED RETROFIT LAMP
Former Wendel Surface Mount and Recessed Framing Projectors can be used to comply with CA Title24 JA8-2016 Residential Lighting requirements only when used in conjunction with an MR16 LED Retrofit Lamp certified to the CA Energy Commission as JA8-2016-E.
Wendel Recessed Framing Projector Housings are UL Listed for zero clearance Insulation Contact (IC). Wendel Recessed Framing Projector Housings are tested and certified to be airtight in accordance to ASTM E283. The Led Retrofit Lamp used must be: UL Listed, certified to the CA Energy Commission, to comply with JA8-2016- E requirements, for use in an enclosed fixture.
The Lighting Fixture Schedule must specify the JA8-2016-E retrofit lamp that is certified to the CA Energy Commission. If the LED Retrofit Lamp is installed at the time of final inspection, Wendel Surface Mount and Recessed Framing Projectors originally designed for halogen can be used to comply with CA Title 24 JA8-2016 Residential Lighting requirements.
