Small Surface Mount Art Lighting Framing Projector – Wenlux
The Wendel Wenlux 928 framing projector is used for art accent lighting and provides the art lighting designer and lighting consultant with an exposed, surface mounted framing projector. This is a fully adjustable framing projector that uses light masking shutters to shape light that is focused by optical lenses to frame light to the contour of art and is suitable for use in residential art lighting, art gallery lighting, museum lighting, lighting corporate collections and highlighting focal points within other fun business lighting environments.
This art accent light delivers final adjustment control with light shaped to follow the contour of art. Illuminating art with a shaped beam of light, shaped to follow the contour of art, provides fine art lighting focused on a subject for maximum visual impact, without lighting the wall beyond art, when the projector is in sharp focus.
The energy efficient and compact optical system that drives this optical art light makes it a leading choice for specification by art lighting designers and lighting consultants. This art light delivers a near 100 CRI color rendering with bright and uniform art lighting from a small framing projector using only 45 watts. An energy efficient lamp equivalent to 70 watts of light drives the high lumen output system. The 100 CRI color rendering light source reveals true color in art for accurate color discrimination.
The 928 framing projector includes variable optics that are easily field selected to meet specific art lighting requirements with light beam spreads ranging from 16° to 80°. Light is framed to follow the contour of paintings by adjusting shutters. Shutters are independently locked into position for the shaped light to continually match to the contour of art. An art lighting specialist is not required for installation of a sharp focus 928 shutter framing projector.
A 16° narrow beam light cone is available for an incredibly tight spot of light for long distances and also ideal for illuminating small paintings, sculpture, or other precious objects with a striking pop of light, a tight spotlight free of halation for small artistic focal points.
The 928 framing projector can be retrofitted to an art lighting optical contour projector using an accessory light mask kit. The light mask kit is used for field cutting a thin brass shim to any desired shape for light to follow the contour of sculptural art form or other non rectilinear shapes. A field cut light mask is easy when used in combination with our Fade In System. Fade In eliminates the need for an exact cut light mask and blends the shaped light border with a feathered low light perimeter that gradually increases in light intensity to a bright art illumination.
The patent pending 928 optical contour framing projector was designed by framing projector specialists with over 100 combined years of projector manufacturing and projector installation experience. The 928 design clears the mystery and simplifies the procedures required for a successful framing projector art lighting installation that can now be performed by a qualified electrical contractor.
Four models are available, providing four different mounting systems. 928B includes an exposed junction box mount art lighting framing projector that can be beam mounted, wall mounted or ceiling mounted. 928C is a canopy mount art lighting framing projector suitable for use with a shallow recessed junction box. 928M is a compact monopoint art lighting framing projector for use with a deep recessed junction box. Both 928C and 928M optical contour framing projectors can be ceiling mounted or wall mounted. 928T is a track mount, art lighting framing projector, providing flexibility for revolving art collections for lighting installed onto a ceiling mounted track.
Some surface mount art accent lighting applications include, lighting rectilinear art, ceiling mounted lighting for paintings, lighting portraits, spotlighting sculpture with shaped light, framing light to the contour of tables, display lighting. Illuminating large paintings or lighting art positioned close to a ceiling may require multiple projectors. Our patent pending Fade In system blends the shaped light border onto a frame or wall beyond the spot lighted art for easy to adjust museum art lighting.
